Our Mission

What We Do

Our mission is simple: To give glory to God and to promote human dignity. Through the tireless efforts of our staff, volunteers, and corporate partners, we feed, clothe, house, and provide fellowship to those in need in our community and around the world.

"For I was hungry and you fed me. For I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. For I was a stranger and you invited me into your home. For I was naked and you clothed me. For I was sick and you cared for me. For I was in prison and you visited me." - Matthew 25:35-36

Our Programs

Food Pantry New Orleans

The Food Pantry of New Orleans was established in 2013 after Toyota of New Orleans transformed a building on their property into a soup kitchen. It has now grown to provide both groceries and hot meals to senior citizens and families in our community. Ms. Betty, the Chief Operations Officer of the pantry, says “...in a city known for food, it is a shame that so many people are going hungry every day.”

Hope House Orphanages

Inspired by lack of proper conditions and schooling for abandoned children in orphanages, Giving Hope initiated the Hope House outreach program. Hope House was born with the goal to build loving orphanages on every livable continent across the globe.

Corporate Hope Days

Corporate Hope Day’s provide corporations with the opportunity to volunteer as a group at The Food Pantry of New Orleans. Groups prepare and serve food as well as interact with the families and senior citizens in our community in need of help. Our hope is that this experience will inspire you and your employees to give back.

Giving Hope Retreat Center

Giving Hope continued our proud partnership with the New Orleans Mission by opening the Giving Hope Retreat in 2015. Giving Hope Retreat currently serves formerly homeless men of the New Orleans Mission by providing refuge, fellowship, and freedom. We are in the process of building a Women’s Center that will accommodate 100 women who have been victims of domestic violence, homelessness, and trafficking.

As the Bible tells us, God hears us when we pray; God desires to meet our needs. #people2pray simply exists as a vehicle to join us together in prayer for one another. Prayer requests are prayed over weekly. Submit a prayer request form by clicking on "Learn More".

Angola Re-entry

Our active partnership with this program assists nonviolent offenders in developing skills needed to restart their lives as productive citizens. We connect businesses like Premier Automotive to these individuals who are now trained as skilled workers and are ready to find employment.

Hope Against Trafficking

Out of a place of passion for injustice, Giving Hope launched Hope Against Trafficking Everywhere (HATE) in 2016 to educate and bring awareness about the dangers of human trafficking. It may or may not be our child, grandchild, niece or nephew, but it is someone's, and if it were our's then we would want the world to stop and help us find and rescue them. Please join the fight to end modern day slavery.

Hope For A Home

Hope for a Home was developed in 2008 during Troy and Tracy Duhon’s adoption journey. Tracy began to host a luncheon in her home to help assist families struggling with the financial burden of overseas adoption. As Tracy says, “Everyone needs a forever family.”
